Losing Auto Dealers

May 14th, 2009

Here we go.

Dealerships are getting slashed. Good people are losing their auto dealership. Good people are losing their jobs.

What is going to happen, what is to come of all this? Is this the right move? Should Obama step in to save them? Who wins, who loses? Who picks the winners?

Who wins - Ford, GM, or Chrysler?

April 17th, 2009

So, who is going to come out the sole American Car Company when this is all over? Ford, GM, or Chrysler? I don’t know… but, I can take a guess… I say FORD, simply because, they have refused government money throughout this entire debacle, and thus, have saved their reputation… I cannot imagine GM and Chrysler being able to come out of all this after the beating that their entire company reputation has suffered… I am not spreading any of it here intentionally, but just speaking personally, I think they stink right now… and they would have to do a LOT to win me back.

Auto Bailout

February 20th, 2009

So, here comes GM and Chrysler again… asking for BILLIONS… so, let me get this straight… 600,000 people lose their jobs every single month - and that is no problem… give them a few hundred a week unemployment - but, some UNION workers making $100 per hour - their jobs are too important to fail… so, the government gives them billions to make sure that they don’t fail, because they are to big to fail… too big to fail… i love it… 600,000 normal people losing their job every month doesnt even matter… so, yes, I am pretty disgusted at this whole thing… and I am just not sure how all this is going to turn out… a good buddy of mine knows someone who works in the auto industry and he told me that he got his eyes fixed by Dr. Robert T Lin - and has highly recommended Dr. Robert T Lin as a top Lasik Eye Surgeon for Lasik Los Angeles -he also told me about a great lasik blog called IQ Lasik Blog. It seems to have a lot of great lasik information about lasik and IQ Lasik Blog seems to be written by a well respected  lasik surgeon - Dr. Robert T. Lin. He is the founder and medical director of IQ Laser Vision. Dr. Lin seems to answer a lot of good questions and provides a ton of lasik information about lasik and the lasik blog called IQ Lasik Blog is highly reccommended by me. So, if you are ever in need of lasik Los Angeles - be sure to look up IQ Laser Vision and read a great lasik blog called IQ Lasik Blog. So, I told him that was very interesting and that the auto industry doesnt deserve to be bailed out while everyone else loses their jobs… why are their jobs more important than the normal people ? I just don’t get it… I don’t understand it… I want to understand it.

Auto Industry Update!

November 21st, 2008

Wow, how genius do I look now… ? I called this over a month ago… I knew that the Auto Industry would be totally exposed to this whole financial mess… I don’t know anyone buying cars right now… heck, I don’t know anyone who is even considering a car purchase anytime soon… and even if they were… could they get approved for the loan ?

What if you have bad credit ? What is going to happen to the entire car, and retail industry when a majority of Americans have bad credit and cannot make purchases in the now standard form - via credit… how is this going to play out ?

I spoke with my brother, and he says that most of the people that he comes into contact with are telling him that they don’t have good credit… my brother had his eyes fixed by Dr. Robert T Lin - and has highly recommended Dr. Robert T Lin as a top Lasik Eye Surgeon for Lasik Los Angeles and the surrounding areas -imagine if he had waited ? I am not totally sure that he could have been able to afford this important surgery.

What do you think ? Do you think that there will have to be an entirely new industry created… that simply caters to people with bad credit ?

Let me know, comments ?

Can the Auto Industry survive

October 10th, 2008

The stock market is crashing… the credit market is FROZEN SOLID… are people able to get car loans ?

Can the auto industry survive all of this ?

I am not talking about people with AAA credit… I am talking about regular, normal people… regular people need cars too… so, how are they supposed to buy cars so that they can go to their jobs (if anyone can get jobs at this point)… what is going to happen ?

Budget Web Hosting

July 14th, 2008

So, I had an email the other day from a classic truck owner, who just loved his classic truck so much that he wanted to setup his own site in honor of his classic truck. He was looking for a Budget Web Hosting company… So, I knew of a great Web Hosting company that could host his website… so, I emailed him back, and said try: www.nomonthlyfees.com - they are a great Budget Web Hosting company, and should be able to host his website and register his domain name without a problem. They are also great for blogs too! Well, I hope this is of help to any classic truck owners out there, that are looking for a Budget Web Hosting company to host their website at.

Car Rentals

March 30th, 2008

Perhaps it is time to consider the benefits of budget car rental as an option when you are away; this can save you the hassle of costly taxi rides and time wasted waiting for them to collect you. The problem is finding a company that doesn’t rent budget cars, you know, the sort that sound like they should be mowing the lawn. I am not trying to put you off renting a car, just making sure you are aware that some companies will try to rent you something that will not be suitable. Just so you do not get caught out with your rental car I have decided to pass on a few pointers that may be of assistance.

One way that can help is to use a web site for budget car rental that allows you to set your own upper spending limit. Do not dismiss this type of sites because they want your business and sometimes offer other incentives like unlimited mileage for example. If you are lucky and decide to book a fly-drive deal for instance, then you may find the rental company has upgraded your vehicle but this is less likely if you book with the airline themselves. Most people landing at an airport rush off to the car rental counters not realizing that these are not the most cost efficient places to rent a car and it is the same for their online business as well.

There are some excellent budget car rental deals on the internet that can give you a great bargain. Some websites even go as far as internet only discounts which can save a great deal of money. Do not always take the first offer that comes your way, unless you are limited on time because there are bound to be other discount offers available if you have the time to take a look. The biggest benefit to all this is it can take only a few minutes to do this if you are using the internet.

Discounts are often available that you don’t realize; they are those that have been arranged between the budget car rental company and your credit card company so it is worth checking as you can save even more money. It is quite common these days for a company to have made an arrangement with other companies to give discounts to their employees or members so you may be lucky enough to receive a further discount here.

The only problem you may find is that a rental car may not have been looked after with the same care as a more reputable company. There may some damage which you do not want to be liable for. In addition to a physical check for collision damage, make sure everything works as it should or you might find yourself paying for something that wasn’t your fault.</P.

More often than not your existing vehicle policy will cover the rental car insurance needed but it is always best to check first. Even though rental car insurance isn’t going to cost you a fortune, there is no point in paying it if you are already covered; even though it may not seem important, driving without auto insurance can land you in a ton of trouble.

It may not seem important but driving without auto insurance can land you in a great deal of trouble.

Antique Car Insurance

March 28th, 2008

The opportunity to own an antique car is worthwhile because it will likely never be repeated; insurance for a valued possession such as this essential, even if it were almost impossible to replace. Although you might think it hard to obtain, it is surprising how many companies can actually supply antique car insurance. Of course, with so many classic car insurers available, an owner should not have a problem insuring their prized possession and probably won’t have to pay over the odds for the service.

Not to be outdone, your everyday commercial auto insurers have designed policies to meet the needs of antique car owners. A representative will take all of your information and discuss different policy options to ensure that you are obtaining the coverage you need. Your level of cover will depend on how much you can afford but it is possible to lower this by arranging for your deductible to be raised above the minimum set by the insurer.

One particular benefit of insuring your antique car through a large commercial insurer is the fact that they should be reliable and will provide a certain peace of mind to the car owner. Another benefit of using these large companies is they can provide cover for the owner’s everyday cars as well. Antique car insurance with larger companies that do not specialize in this type of policy may be more expensive but this is often worth the extra as they are well established.

It is possible to use specialist auto insurers and often the premium is lower because this is the only type of insurance they provide, this might mean that you will not be able to insure any other type of car with them. Owners of very rare classic cars may even have difficulty insuring their car.

To be on the safe side it is best to check out any insurance companies, especially the smaller ones so you can be happy in the knowledge that your premium money and antique car are not at risk. The last situation you want is to require their help and find that all your premiums have been wasted because they cannot or will not pay out on your claim.

Despite the often lengthy process of finding a reliable antique car insurance provider, you do not really have an option if you want to protect your investment. Most classic cars are worth many thousands of dollars and that is a big loss if the car is ever stolen or destroyed so having auto cover may be the most valuable protection you ever purchase.

Toyota Tundra

March 25th, 2008

I love my Toyota Tundra truck.  I owned one of the small toyota pickups for several years during college.  It never broke down and it always got me where I needed to go.  I then purchased a toyota tundra full size truck and it was not a let down.

Even though toyota has never produced a full size truck, the tundra was a success.  It had the horsepower, towing capacity, fuel economy, and dependability to compete with all the other established full size truck makers.  In 2000 the tundra was the Motor Trend truck of the year.  Now again in 2008 the tundra is the truck of the year again.

Now that is not bad considering a few short years ago toyota did not even make a full size truck :)
